Damaged by Lisa ScottolineMy rating: 4 of 5 starsDamaged by Lisa Scottoline is a 2016 St. Martin’s Press publication. This fourth installment in the Rosato and also DiNunzio series is a solid legal thriller blfinished with a powerful and emotional family drama. Mary DiNunzio is in the midst of pulling together the last minute details of her wedding, once she is approached to manage the situation of a middle grade boy named Patrick, that is being sued for assault, once in truth he is a victim. Patrick’s only family is his aging grandfather, that is bewildered by the whole episode, and worried sick about Patrick, that suffers from stress and also dyslexia. Mary is identified to check out this case with for Patrick’s sake, however soon finds out her opposing counsel is none various other than the notorious Nick Machiavelli, which only swee10s the obstacle for Mary, until the unexpected happens and Mary’s expert life clashes via her individual life, while Patrick’s fate hangs in the balance. I love Mary and Anthony’s big Italian household, and also just how they infusage humor right into this emotional story that had me dabbing my eyes a little. Anytime household court is center stage, the frustration leaps off the page, because it is so hard to see youngsters ground up by the convoluted system, wbelow bureaucracy trumps common sense. My heart ached for Patrick, yet Mary refsupplies to earlier down and fights for him tooth and nail. In the process, she uncovers more than one motive and could find herself in severe peril. While this story is rooted in legal hearings, and also drama, both individual and professional, there are also a couple of spine tingling moments of suspense and also even a small activity. While the answers in these instances are never before straightforward, I loved exactly how every little thing functioned out in the end and closed the book through a big smile on my challenge. Overall, this is a wonderful enhancement to the series.
